if you are trying to purchase something, and it comes to a total that is over the limit of the amount of credit available on the card..will the order still go through?..ex: if i purchase something for 100 dollars and the available credit on the card is 50 dollars..will the purchase go through..and i will just owe the money...or can i not go over th available credit limit?|||I agree it depends on the card....but that $100.00 purchase may easily end up costing you $200.00 with over the limit fees ($35.00 or more ) and interest and most often you will have to pay the over the limit fees twice if you just pay the minimum payment (which will increase by the over the limit fee amount)...if you pay it then you willl be over the limit again next month too
for example say you owe $1950
your credit line is $2000.00
you make a purchase for $100.00
now your monthly payment is
$70.00 + $35.00
but of that $105.00 only $20.00 or so will go to your principle so now your balance is 2030.00 so now you have to pay the over the limit fees again
Please pass on this purchase|||It depends on the card.
You would think the card would be declined if you had no more available credit, but that's not always the case. Some cards will happily let you go over, then charge you a $40 fee for going over the credit limit.|||Some cards will allow it, some won't - but if it does allow it it will destroy you with fees.
